A stock turbo meth injected 6spd Evo MR races a Evo IX with a FP black turbo on pump gas on a base tune.

@blackdemonevo9 Car was on a safe base street tune to get the owner home and boosting happy until dyno time could be scheduled. The car on ECU boost would crack 500whp on stock block easily but there is no sense risking that much power and TQ on a mbc with a tq spike.

@ControlALTde1337 We don't have it locally to do it, BUT the car should be on meth in a few months. Meth setup is in the car but there not gonna use it and tune for it until ecu controlled boost is setup. Stock block & big tq hit isnt a good mix.

tunes good, theres just misinformation spread about the FP black turbo. Not every one if going to be fully bolt on equipped with meth or race gas making 500+whp.

@95TegSE he had it sitting from his eclipse that he began parting out. Other have done the swap so he figured why not, theirs added bonuses compared to stock evo ecu. Obviously the car runs pretty good for what it is.

reguardless each are nice cars, with different yet similar setups. How much boost on the stock turbo? My guess the fp black evo, since its on pump only isnt a big amount, people gotta remember the fp black spools later might be 1k rpms, but as far as top end it wasnt a consistent pull away but a slow pull away which could be the combination of high boost with a 6 speed closer ratio trans. Now if the fp black had a meth or race gas setup, it would be interesting to compare too. evo 4 da win.

Just curious as to why the 8 is running a DSM ecu instead of the stock Evo ecu... Haven't heard of that one before (maybe I'm just living under a rock).

forgot to say, have the usual supporting mods, MLS headgasket, arp headstuds, just the longblock is stock.

Just seems depressing seeing an upgrade like an FP black that cost $2, 500 new for evos that supposed to flows 68lb/min (what FP says) only put down close to 400hp(which would be what around 48-49lb/min, nowhere near the 68lb/min that FP boast). Just wondering do you have any data logs of how much the Black is flowing for you? I'm just curious.

Are you running all the bolt-ons or no. I have yet to see a full bolt on FP Black run under 450whp on 93 pump.

thanks appreciate it, yea I know what im talkin about I own one of these money pits too haha jk, but when my og fp red kicks the bucket im considering a black upgrade. Dont get me wrong the red is nice but i could sacrifice a bit more spool for a bit better midrange n top end power. I even think id be in a good race matchup with these 2 cars for fun

@MerkOssenkop More boost plus meth is keeping things cooled, thus allowing for better timing. Pretty straight forward in this case.
