Milo, I just want to say thank you. I have tried to play golf with an athletic motion for over 20 years, I’ve never understood how the hips worked, how to keep my shoulders on plain, and I’ve just always had to try and manufacture a swing. To the point I’ve injured my back before. I actually quit golf for almost two years. I’ve had a few lessons and I’ve probably watched over 100 hours of instruction on YouTube. But nobody ever explained the swing in a way that I could understand and sink it all up. And then, yesterday, I stumbled across one of your videos. I watched more and more, and in no time, I felt I actually understood. I grabbed my clubs and went outside. I practiced some drills of yours and then I went to the range. I’m so thrilled to say that for the first time in over twenty years of trying, that I finally made a sinked up golf swing! An athletic one! I don’t know if I can express the gratitude I feel but I certainly want to say thank you for what you do. Please don’t stop with your videos. Because of my struggles, I had began to hate a game that I wanted so bad to understand and take part in. You’ve made it fun for me and now I have to clean these clubs up and get playing again. Thanks so much!

Set up for this station. 3 alignment sticks
First one in 5 yards down the target line.
Second between your feet and ball parallel to the target line. Last one 2 and 1/2 feet back of the ball and 4 inches outside the target line matching the lie angle of the club you’re swinging.

Thanks Milo. Great drill. You’re helping me cure 50 years of the dreaded hip slide. 🤪 Wish Arizona was a little closer...

I just can't get enough of your videos right now! Been watching your videos on repeat and making low scores. The way you teach golfletics-type swing concepts is making me hit so much good geometry without even trying. Up until now, I'd achieve one thing in my swing at the expense of another but after watching your videos a sort of chain reaction has started and everything is falling into place rapidly, not just in the swing but with my connection to what the ball's doing. I think it's because although you address different components you are working kinda holistically from a strong foundation of athletic movement. I also am of a similar build/stature so watching your movement feels easy for me to imitate. Thank you! When I'm a penniless student no longer I will be coming to visit. :D

I’m ready to give up on golf, but I found this channel and it’s inspiring me again. Simple swing thoughts, love it.

The 1:45 mark is the key for me. I've found that as long as I'm thinking of rotating correctly, the backswing takes care of itself. Too far out of position on the back swing, and the body can't possibly rotate correctly... From there, it was just like Milo said - figuring out how to drop the club back on plane. The feel for this will be different for everyone. For Milo, it's turning the door knob. For me, it's throwing the axe behind me... Regardless, swinging the club like this just about eliminates the left side. It's almost impossible to drop it too much to hook the ball and if you don't drop the club enough - it's a pull fade that usually ends up close to the target line...

This is one of the very few drills out there that actually allow for an understanding of the golf swing as a whole. The reality is that there isn't enough time throughout the swing to focus on and execute every aspect of the swing itself. A lot of the swing is natural movement based on intent. If I gave you two baseballs and said, throw one like a rainbow and throw one like a bullet - you're probably not going to be thinking of body positions to accomplish this... Save yourself from the years of getting stuck in the labyrinth of trying to figure out the golf swing. Keep it simple. Getting open and rotating properly is the most important piece to consistent contact and ball flight. This is the drill that helped the light bulb go off on what getting open means while dropping the club on plane.

I’ve taken your advice about opening up my left knee feel! It automatically shallows the club and my arms seem passive through the turn! Definitely has made my strike solid!

I like to put a alignment stick laying on the ground where the shaft needs to b in that p6 position . To get you coming on the inside path with shaft of the club . Good visual, Another good video 👍

Thanks for this. I have watched videos by several instructors whose research shows that pros and good golfers all have the hips move between 4 and 6 inches toward the target while the head stays behind the ball, AND they do not tilt the spine back and get stuck as you are showing. Their shoulders are tilted in the rotating posture, and the spine is tilted forward from the hips of course, and as they swing the right shoulder is low toward the ball and the left shoulder is high. Would really appreciate your thoughts on this. You rotate the left hip back and obviously make excellent contact with the ball, and you do stress the flow of getting pressure shifted from the trail leg to the lead leg starting before the end of the backswing, but you don't seem to move your left side as far toward the target as in these other videos. Thank you.

I got the pivot down. The wrist conditions is a little tougher to get comfortable w it almost feels like u have to give up some feeling of control to gain the proper sequence of the wrists w how supple and soft they need to feel and be

How do you reconcile your method with Malaska? You encourage wrists to fall flat, and Malaska pushes to stand the club up vertically as your arms fall to start the downswing. Malaska would likely say your wrists will need to "flip" to square the face. Considering you both are at Superstition, how do you square this when talking together?

That is pure genius!!!this is the missing piece for me.

Get feels there, ive developed a bad slide in the downswing then my chest hangs back, tons of tilt amd under plane thin draws. Not very fun to hit thin draws all day. Gonna try this next range session.

One of the most clearest, concise, and simple fault correcting drills I have ever seen.
The way I used to correct this annoying habit is by peaking back to the area of the crime before I take it back to see where my hands should be. The key is a feeling of slight hesitation as you let your hands drop, then your body connecting with your arms. If the arms connect first you’re dead. Your drop creates the proper hesitation and connection.
