I have visited other states and I enjoyed my trips but I've never lived in another state. I know California is expensive but we've got so much variety (scenery, weather, people, jobs) and there aren't a lot of states I'd want to live in.

It really depends on where you live in CA. I pay more for everything in Alaska than I did in California. The only exception is gas. Even my water bill is a higher price in Alaska.
