Hey the Boston photos on San Diego were mistake. Just dropped the pictures in the wrong folder. That wasn't one of my easter egg things I like to do. Just a human error. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the week.

The problem with Boston is not so much the property values as it is the low rental availability. It's not super difficult to buy a place in Boston but it is very difficult to find a place to rent for the same money.

Florida, especially south Florida, has astronomical costs for homeowners, windstorm, and flood insurance. We must have all three if you have a mortgage. The insurance companies make you replace your roof before the end of its life or you will pay a lot more for your insurance, that’s if they will still insure you.

As someone who was born and raised in SoCal, I was genuinely shocked at how expensive Seattle is. I just moved to San Diego after living there for 2 years and would tell people that it's like living in Cali without any of the perks. The 20% liquor tax is also absurd.

I bet by 2030 cities like Denver, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Nashville, Austin and Madison (Wisconsin) will all be as expensive as those cities in this video. Because of the continuing population growth, massive gentrification, more buildings popping up and more corporate/fortune 500 companies relocating to those cities to attract more recent college grads and more highly skilled qualified workers.

I live in San Francisco as an architect and you are dead right! I cleared 120k last year, live in downtown in a 300sf studio (rent controlled). It's decent with everything one needs. Its 2100 a month. Like 90 percent of working professionals here, even with that income it is payday to payday.

I worked and traveled all across North America during my career. My motto has always been “It’s not about how much money you make, but it’s about how expensive it is to live there.”

I live in San Diego. Born and raised. Turning 62 next month and can’t afford to stay here in my retirement 😢. It’s truly a GORGEOUS city and has the absolute best weather!! I will enjoy the remainder of my working years here then move along. Where to, I have no clue. I’m watching your videos to find out where I can afford to live 😂👍. Thank for always sharing these interesting videos with us! Take care.

All of Florida is expensive. After 3 years in Jacksonville I moved back to my hometown of St Louis and I’m glad to be back. I won’t miss Florida at all.. rather live somewhere under rated then over rated.

I remember when San Jose was considered the low rent district in the bay area.

San Diego is beautiful. Wish I still could afford to live there. It'll always be home!!

Grew up in Boston, now live in Waikiki. Sure rent is expensive. But the savings from not having to buy new clothes every few months helps a lot. I have my beach shorts, shirts & slippers, & my going out to dinner shorts, shirts & slippers. No boots, coats, fall sweater, winter clothes. & if you eat local you can save big bucks.

I agree about Seattle, my gosh the traffic is ridiculous. Good thing there are back roads

It’s funny that as a 32 y/o black dude, this is the only channel who’s videos I watch as soon as they come out.

I am surprised that Atlanta Georgia isn’t on this list because that huge metropolis is definitely no bargain to live in. The traffic there is on third world levels of congestion yet their interstate freeways are among the widest in the country.

When it got to the last 2, I knew it was San Francisco, but totally forgot about Hawaii.

One thing that Hawaii has going for it is the property tax is about 0.27%, compare that with NJ's tax rate of about 2.48%. A million $ house in HI is taxed $241 a month, a million $ house in NJ is taxed $2, 350 a month. Check the property tax rate before changing states.

Having grown up between San Antonio, Texas and Sonoma County, California, I know San Francisco and San Jose extremely well. It’s not getting any better. I will never move back there. My Mom’s side of my family has been there since 1886. Napa and Sonoma are almost equally as expensive as San Francisco and Santa Rosa in Sonoma County is almost as bad as San Francisco in many area of that small city. I visit the area yearly at least once to see family. It’s depressing what California has become. Texas isn’t much better. I live in Charlotte, NC which used to be great, but this place has declined too. It’s everywhere. Housing is getting more expensive, crime is on the rise, and nobody wants to do a damn thing about it.
