I spent almost 50 years working in and around injured animal rescue and rehabilitation, with both wild and domestic critters and most people would be at least shocked or even terrified to see some of the things I've seen with animals. I've even known a few co-workers who suffer real professionally diagnosed PTSD, it's a known issue in the community and because they cared so much they ignored the signs and stayed too long doing the job!

Life as a wild animal is a constant struggle to survive people don’t realize animals get older and slower and injured and then they can’t run and they get eaten. Life is hard . The idea that all these people coddled by social media and a comfortable life think an animals life is worth more then theres Is nonsense . I see so many comments everyday about people that just simply do not understand the scale and nature of the matter. We gotta get real collectively as a race and stop dividing ourselves over petty nonsense

If you want a pet, adopt a Maine Coon cat or a Golden Retriever. In nature, cute does NOT equal safe, gentle, docile, etc. For instance some people adopt the abandoned squirrels they rescued. In my home town, I saw a group of males raping a female. Each time she tried to escape, they chased her and resumed violating her. My friend and I kept yelling and stomping and chasing the squirrels until they got fed up, dispersed, and finally left the female alone.
