In Gdansk they spoke German and they wre considering their self as Germans but for long time they were indpendent from Poland an Germany. They were probably a mix of Poles and German

As a modern pole im mostly polish but the small part of germans of my ancestors were in early 1900s and late 1800s and they lived in poznań wchich probablly in this etchnic polish german border i think
