How would it sound if i said " if I had been rich i would have bought it"? Since your example is especial one so let's look at a more common example. If i had money i would have gone on holiday last year. Is this sentence correct? Or I have to say, if i had had money i would have gone on holiday last year? Because If I had money mean i don't have it now, not in the past. Thanks have a nice
