It's that time of year again when old red legs hatches in great numbers! This is a very easy but extremely effective bibio dry fly pattern that has worked for me for decades. Also some very neat techniques for making the hairy red back attractor legs and a segmented foam body.

Hook: Mustad Heritage R30 AP # 14/16
Tying thread: Sheer 14/0 Black
Body: 2.4 mm Black foam cylinder
Wing: White Para Post
Legs: Red CDC stems
Thorax: Black CDC

Great Video and pattern Mr.Clarke
Hello from the Yellowstone and Black Hills valleys.
We had some unbelievable Char (Brook Trout where we come from) fishing using a elk hair mouse this spring when we went way North into Canada and fished the rivers and streams connecting lakes....it was an absolute blast ! We had only heard of Brook Trout growing that big and oh so beautiful...finally got that off our bucket list !

Hi Barry - I notice in your videos you always tend to use 14/0 thread (obvs various colours) can I ask why, that fine a thread most of the time, not a complaint am just interested. thx
