You are so right. The opposing tensions created by counterwraps are also useful for securing Clouser eyes, positioning wing posts, etc.

Genius! As always…but what about covering the whole fly in Rosenbauer tape? Seems like it would work great, and what self respecting trout wouldn’t eat a big wad of blue tape.

Excellent tip. I just wish I’d seen this video before wrestling with 10 Stubby Chubbies, trying to keep the foam from spinning.
