Suspect arrested after two deaths in downtown Edmonton

Tony Hai, owner of Albert’s Auto Body shop in Edmonton’s downtown Chinatown district, talks about his long-time employee who was randomly assaulted on Thursday afternoon, May 18, 2022. A man entered the shop and randomly attacked the employee, who was taken to hospital in critical condition.

This is terrible and there's no more complex explanation than the lack of services due to cost-cutting. We really have to decide in this country, and in each province, where our priorities lie. Money for services isn't thrown away, and it's not "coddling" anyone, it goes to support people who need help, and who, if they go without that help, could become a danger to themselves and others in the community. I hope this poor man makes it. What a tragedy.
