The Osprey is just gorgeous. Like something out of a dream. But MY dream would be to fly in a B-52 Stratofortress bomber. Now THAT is an airplane! I built a model of one when I was a kid and it was huge, almost as big as me. Well, the 8 or 9 year old version of me anyways. I worked on radar systems for surface to air missiles in the military, but as much as I like missiles, I’m fascinated by military transport aircraft and military fighter jets. That’s been since I was a kid; and it never left me. I’m STILL in love with them. Occasionally I’ll see a transport jet (and rarely, a turboprop) and I’ll still drop whatever I’m doing and just stare, transfixed, like a kid all over again.

Howard Hughes' HK-1 Hercules, or "Spruce Goose" at McMinville, Oregon has eight engines.
Added in edit: and the B-36 with six props and four jets had a total of ten.

The B-52H model was the first airplane I worked on after leaving tech school and it is the newest and the last of the old BUFF's and I have many memories of the three models I worked on during the Vietnam War and loved them at times as well as hated them at times.

They had a buff in the hanger back in 77 at Lowry AFB in Denver CO when I was in tech school, they let two of us at a time go up in the cockpit I never seen so many switches and controls in my life it was crazy that thing is a monster.

B52 still very much configured to carry nuclear weapons, it is the Rockwell B1 that now only carries conventional

While in the Navy, I was fortunate enough to be able to go on a B-52 aerial refueling mission with the Air Force while stationed overseas. Was allowed to sit with boom operator, what a sight to see the B-52 arrive midair and hook up for fuel. You could see the B-52 crew clearly from where I sat. The pictures I took are amazing.

Uh, it's the B1 Bomber that no longer carries nukes. The B-52 remains capable of carrying nukes.

Удивительно красивый самолёт. Особенно потрясающе выглядит взлёт если стоишь в торце полосы!
