Life can throw some challenging obstacles at us, and at times like those, it’s always helpful to consider how the ancient Near Eastern war deity from the bible would respond. In fact, let’s do that. If a human being made the same choices Yahweh would necessarily be making for the world to exist as we see it now, would we see that human being as a good person - or do we actually hold regular people to much higher standards than God Himself?

Fixing the car at the end is so freaking accurate. When I was a Pentacostal, the biggest miracles that people testified to were that God: cured their migraine, got their car to start, helped pay the bills, one time he even helped my pastor find his car keys and made the stoplights all green so he wouldn't be late for church. It's too bad he never regrew any lost limbs, that would have been cool.

years ago, a family that my family is friends with had their daughter got hit by a car at 21 years old. now this woman had a drinking problem when she was a teenager and she beat it. she had her life on the right track and she got hit by a drunk driver at around 7 in the morning when she was on her way to work. no word about god from her family or mine.
she lay in the hospital for several days, there was no change in her condition. the doctors kept her well sedated because of her injuries. after about a week, there was improvement in her condition, and i clearly remember my mom saying to me, "prayer works, sue is getting better."
it took all of my strength to bite my tongue the next day when our friend passed away. again, no word about god from either family.
not only did we lose our friend and our friends lost their daughter/sister, but her death was painful and drawn out. there was even a glimmer of hope towards the end that she would get better. if god's plan were to take this young woman, why did it just not take her at the scene of the accident? why let her be sedated and let her loved ones suffer for several days and even let us have a glimmer of hope?
if this god exists why the hell would anyone worship this evil, sadistic tyrant?

The voice of the person in pain goes deep 😅 It made me think of all the emotional/physical pain humanity is going through. I’m Iraqi and I worked in a hospital during the war against ISIS, specifically in the war-injured ward. The voice of the guy in pain resonates with the memories of the screaming soldiers back at the hospital. If we don’t act with empathy towards each other, we’d lose everything. Great work Dark Matter 💜🙏🏽
