For example, they could technically outsource that operation and still be able to say "we do not keep logs". Or whats to keep them from simply lying through their teeth? A VPN service WILL slow your throughput some. People need to understand this. A good way to minimize this effect is to use the many, many servers available on Nord and switch servers if your connection gets too slow. Frustratingly, my place of study (and any others with particularly/frustratingly up-to-date tech support) have found a way to block VPN connections. Websites are blocked, and if on a phone it will ALWAYS fail to connect.

Thanks Joe for the extra information about NordVPN, you explain everthing in a clear and consise manner. I use NordVPN for getting TV stations from the UK as I'm based in The Netherlands. Works a treat most times, sometimes you have to switch to another UK server when program freezes whilst playing.
