I have a great deal of admiration for these amazing girls. They work so hard and make it look easy. But this video shows exactly how difficult it is. I didn't realize how dangerous it could be for them. Watching the girls on the balance beam was scary. They are so brave!!!

You could tell that second girl was very rattled by the early error. Tough to get your concentration back in those circumstances.

I did beam in high school, it freaked me out big time, we only had to do get on, do some dips, a little routine and get off. Unfortunately, I jumped off and fractured my ankle in the process 😱
I have always admired these girls who make the beam look graceful, elegant but also dangerous all at the same time.

1:44. Caught herself from falling from the beam though. You really got to have Balance technique and skill for this. Better to land on by your feet at least. I did some gymnastics as a kid and the beam scared me for whatever reason. I preferred the vault and rings and floor

I remember in highschool, the gym had one just like that.
All we had to do was get on and walk it.

Считаю, надо данный снаряд вывести из соревнований - эти пируэты и сальто и на ровной твёрдой поверхности очень сложно делать, а с таким усложнением в виде ограниченного пространства, которое лишает спортсмена нормальной опоры - это просто издевательство! Глупая погоня за зрелищностью - по такой же логике давайте и "русскую рулетку" введём - ну а что? Зрелищность жеж, чувство азарта, предвкушение трагедии...
