I've been to over 20 countries and just visited Taiwan for the first time and can honestly say it's my favourite so far. Heavily underrated and a hidden gem. The people are incredibly hospitable and will go the extra mile to assist you even if they don't speak much English, the food is amazing, the ease of transportation is super convenient and the country as a whole is pocket friendly so if you're a budget traveller it's an ideal place to visit.

“kiss and ride” is a temporary drop off/pick up spot, so you kiss your loved one goodbye after being dropped off (or greeting kiss being picked up) at the station. You two are excellent tour guides for us viewers! I visited Taiwan a few months ago and rode high speed train too. I want to go down south next time after watching you guys having so much fun!

Well done video. I studied at the Stanford Center in Taipei 1972-73 and worked for the National Palace Museum 1978-80. My daughter was born in Taiwan and my wife is from HK. I'm looking forward to getting back for a visit.

I used to travel to Taiwan for work around 4 times a year. I found the people to be very courteous and friendly. I miss it!

I'm Taiwanese, living in Kaohsiung. So glad you enjoyed trip here!! I am also left-handed, it's ok to use chopsticks with left hand. And it's really a saying that left-handed people are smart
😂
For high speed railway, because you don't have enough time. Actually you can just get on the train, no matter which car number is, and then walk inside the train to your car number and straight for your seats.😊

For "Kiss and Ride", actually that translation was been on the news before. 🤣 Because it's not normally use. It's means "Pick- up Area".

Uh-oh! Shall I include Kaoshiong in my itinerary too? Few days from now, we’ll be visiting Taipei too. Thank you for your videos. It helps me decide what I wanted to do once we’re touchdown. Entertaining, captivating and both of you are very good story-tellers!

I was really moved when I watched this video. The statue at the end is Xuantian Shengdi, a deity in Taoism, commonly worshipped by people on both sides of the strait. Our tradition involves celebrating every 12 years, equivalent to the Chinese zodiac cycle. When it's time to welcome Xuantian Shengdi, the village throws a grand feast, inviting friends from all over to share in the joy. Welcoming Xuantian Shengdi is akin to welcoming peace, and this is a common tradition across the Taiwan Strait. It feels so familiar and heartwarming. Thanks to the blogger for sharing.

Taiwan is so advanced and beautiful people and nice. I am not Taiwanese. When I was in Europe, they said it’s poor country and dirty, I was laughing and they are so much behind Taiwan. ❤ euro think Japan is the only advanced not others asian countries
