When asked about Labour's housing reforms, Lord Hammond says there are a lot of Conservative supporters who are, "opposed to development in their own backyards."

I'm sorry, I'm half way through this video and I find myself asking the same question over and over again, why is it that almost every media outlet gives the conservatives such an easy ride. The OBR confirmed in writing that they were not aware of the enormous overspend until last week, therefore critical information was withheld by the government at that time, the Tories. Now this could only be for three reasons that I can see, incompetence, dishonesty or the deliberate, "Salting of the earth, " for an incoming government.
For the sake of all of us and truly unbiased journalism, ASK THOSE QUESTIONS, please?

Lord Philip Hammond: I don't see the use in criticising the outgoing chancellor. Its just one big game to people like him. If we can't criticise our public officials than what government are we aiming for here !?

Blimey some Tories used to be half sensible . Their decline is all their own fault .

Hammond seems to be saying there's no way of updating OBR or Parliament on overspend on budgets ie forecasts. But I think examples from Reeves were failure to even allocate budgets against policy decisions such as asylum.

Philip Hammond is one of those few conservatives, who knows how to make economic decisions in the interest of everyone.

Why would it not be good that every Quarter the Chancellery presents an update against Forecast, any business would do this and often more often. No business sets a Forecast and waits until the end of the year to assess if they did well or disastrously, and they take actions to adjust accordingly!

A lot of big national names have banked loads of land and in the short term won't build on it. As land and house prices rise the big builders having had a green light to build often don't for investment reasons.

I saw a sky news report awhile back about a shortage of tradespeople.... 250k short by 2030 to be exact. Who's is going to build all these houses? Having tradespeople come for other countries won't work as it's costs so much to go to another country for such a short time, in other words it's an upheaval for that person, it costs them more to leave their home country for a short period as it would to move permanently.

From 12mts 53, UK influence is limited now as we are no longer members of Europe Union. If i am not mistaken. Your consevertive party told us that leaving Europe would make us stronger and make us more influential at the world stage.

There will be a 400, 000+ home deficit for the next decade if immigration continues. We need journalists who can look at models and understand charts... This is a 10-20 year fix.
