NEW STIHL 27-2 Trimmer Head - What's New - Review & Analysis

STIHL has made a rolling change to the Bump Heads that come standard with all their String Trimmers / Weed Eaters. Instead of the old AutoCut 25-2, All STIHL string trimmers will now come standard with the All New STIHL AutoCut 27-2.

Is the metal-colored metal fitting on the tip of the tapping part an accessory, or is it just on the photo?

I've been using the stihl 20-2 auto feed trimmer head for years. About every two years the eyelets need replacing. That's all the maintenance. The fact that the head feeds the correct amount of line helps in saving cost. I don't have to buy trimmer line "as often". I bought two of these eight years ago, and they're still going strong.

Fantastic idea to make the longlife spool compatible with the older heads. Can you test if the spool will also fit into the AutoCut 36-2 for me please, they haven't released in my country yet.

I just bought a fs251r and it came with this head and you couldn't cut longer than a minute before the line break off at the eyelet and it came with some cheap orange line so I took it apart the took my dremel and rounded off the sharp edge on the eyelet at the slot and changed the line with some Rotary vortec 105 line and it cuts weeds like butter now.

I like the new head saw it at Expo but the 26-2 still has less vibration I'm going to try the new 27 thanks 👍

New spool has a slot for 095 and 105 if you insert the line in the wrong hole on the spool it won't line up with the eyelets 😊😊

Never used this head until recently. The first stihl trimmer I bought came with a 26-2. I replaced it as soon as it wore out with a speedfeed 400. However I can say from experience that the 27-2 is absolute dogsh*t compared to either the 26-2 or the speedfeed 400. That said, the echo head is far superior to anything that stihl offers

I love my AutoCut 26-2. It's easier to fill than the new 27-2.

This head is a piece of garbage. Bought a brand new still today, right off the floor and went to use it - FIVE TIMES IN AROW after rewinding it correctly, still will not feed. Horrible design! Avoid at all costs! Returning this to the store Monday!
