my A geniculata is a *monster*. Her name is Aaragog, but I gifted her a much less family friendly nickname. She is ALWAYS threat posing me and testing her enclosure with her fangs. She's always sitting on top of her water dish, and she is vicious if I try to touch it to clean it or refill it. Water streams are scary and bad. I have to distract her with a prey item to swap out the water bowl. That said, she's also always out, she always eats, and she's very impressive looking. I was terrified of her when she first arrived, but I think she's one of my favourites, now.

I predicted the geniculata on this list, because I watch exotics lair too much, and his Geniculatas are demons

This vid reads almost like my todo-list! I.hirsutum is very prominent there, p.pulcher a bit further down and a.geniculata is one of two non-arboreals on the list. Ah yes, I'm all about arboreals - mainly avics and psalmos.... So, when it comes to any psalmos, a little hint for you other keepers: Yes, they are a bit shy and they really love a corkbark to build their tunnels behind. So when I set up a psalmo enclosure (at least the final ones) I don't put the corkbark to the back, but to the side. That allows for watching the animal with much less effort than turning the enclosure around a 180° or annoying it to come out.

Superb video as always ❤️👍 Yvaine 🕷️ (A geniculata) is always on display, never flinches when I open her lid and feeds almost as aggressively as me 😈

I gotta be mindful when going near her. Last week I wanted to add a few springtails to her Viv and as I shook the soil out of the 4" square plastic tub, she launched at it and attached herself to the side!! 😱

A running cockroach is fun to watch if she doesn't nail it first go. She gives chase! So, jumping, pouncing, running and fighting with my long tweasers is all part of the fun ❤️❤️

The Psalmopoeus genus is my favorite. They’re the best intermediate Ts, care and requirements aren’t too demanding and the temperament depends on the individual.
I have 2 Cambridgei both skittish but docile and handleable, my puncher is completely relaxed and she’s no faster then a pink toe.
These Ts don’t have urticating hairs and don’t have potent venom so in the wild they rely so much on their speed to get them by, for a larger arboreal they’re pretty light weight and if you intend on handling them just so you know any fluctuations in wind or sudden movements can cause these spiders to jump off your hand and start running for the hills.
The irminia is one of the crowning jewels of the hobby and it’s also the most nervous of the psalms, a great stepping stone for OW Ts, you can see a similar attitude but without the nasty venom.

Brazilian b&W's and Skeleton Legs are the first T's I ever wanted and are what got me interested/into the hobby. You have great taste! (P. Pulcher and Irminia are great as well.)

Most of my tarantulas changed their attitude over the years or to be precise: they grew more chill with size - like they would be aware of their threatening size and incresed speed and poisonuseness(?).
