Internet Lag - Troubleshooting Packet Loss

In this video i talk about how to diagnose your internet connection for packet loss.

Noticed a lot of people saying they are at 100% packet loss across the board. This can be due to polling too fast. You might be overloading your router essentially ddosing yourself. Raise the ping interval up a step in pingplotter and see if that helps. Alternatively if you ddos yourself at 1s or higher then your router is trash and you should consider replacing it.

Great video! Thanks to your explanations I could solve a problem with my network adapter, I just changed it to another version and fixed the problem. I realized that my packet loss problem came from my computer to the router connection due to your explanation "if you have packet loss in the first line, then the problems is in the connection from your computer to the router". Thanks a keep doing the good work.

well for me its the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th ones... I've called them numerous times by now, they send a guy out a couple times and he always fixed something that I knew wasn't the problem. I am thinking about switching because this has been going on for OVER A YEAR and nothing changed, I just don't know if its gonna be better if I do.

What if the command prompt shows everything okay but the ping plotter shows packet loss???

If your having massive loss on Hop 3-9, It maybe due to a faulty network card. After much troubleshooting, I found my onboard was pooched. Thanks for the video. Ping plotter is a great tool.

I've been searching for a video like this for a while. I have ok internet but I was getting bad ping spikes and constant packet loss in a lot of games. I wanted to figure out the problem so I've been googling about it for a long time. I am only getting packet loss in the first one so i will be trying to fix it. Thank for the informational video
