📖 The Gospel of John: A Masterpiece of Scripture
This quarter, join us as we delve into the unique beauty of the Gospel of John. Unlike any other Gospel, John’s account focuses on personal encounters with Jesus—Nicodemus, the woman at the well, Lazarus, and more. Each story is rich with meaning, offering us a deeper understanding of Christ’s ministry.

📚 Understanding Scripture: To truly comprehend the Bible, it must be studied in context—both in its immediate setting and within the overall message of the Bible. This quarter, we’ll explore John’s Gospel in this light, led by the Holy Spirit’s inspiration.

This is a rich study. So many good points brought out! A very apt illustration from the Best Teacher who ever lived on how witnessing can be effectively done. I've always appreciated this story and well remember it as the subject of one of the earliest discourses I ever gave--even before I attended college back, in the dark, ages. My topic was Come See a Man! My brother Cedric especially was impressed by it. Every now and then in our conversations he simply says, Come See a Man! Thank you, Pastors.

In the discussion of her husbands, Jesus understood and did not “go there?” For His mission was to share with her and the Samaritans that He was indeed the Christ - the Messiah!

Pastor Murray, please share where in Scripture or the SOP that says the woman’s people were antagonistic toward her. This line of comments seems like speculation. There are times when people would prefer their own company - like in Mary of Magdala’s situation, how long was she forgiven her life of prostitution or demons cast out b/4 Simon’s feast? Yet many saw her as an immoral woman. We assume a lot when Inspiration says otherwise. This is something that needs more explanation.

How did the Samaritan woman recognize that Jesus was a Jew

I am disappointed that the panel assumed she was a “tainted” woman. Then how was it possible that the people of Sychar immediately listened to her to go hear Jesus? Is it possible that she had no husband because they initiated the separation? What about the levitate laws? Recall Tamar’s insistence to get Shiloh after her “husbands” were killed - but Judah himself fulfilled the law!
