Move areas with geometry generator in QGIS

With geometry generator styles in QGIS you can do all sorts of interesting things. In fact, the possibilities are basically endless. So it's good to experiment with different expressions and different datasets. In this example I take a dataset of election results for the UK and move the polygons so that they all have space around them. But the overall shape of the UK is preserved, roughly, so it's still possible to locate different places.

This is the expression used to move the shapes in the map (see below). The translate function moves features in a map layer.

translate($geometry,x($geometry),y($geometry))
