Off-gassing is a major issue in building interiors these days. So much so that minimizing it is part of LEED certification. According to many, it's definitely not good for you.

I have a 2015 Nissan Rogue for almost 2 years. It still smells new my other car I had smelled for a while. I've always liked that smell they put in the new cars. I did get a used car from authorized dealer it had a new car smell like whatever they put inside of the car.

One angle you might look into, is the MSDS for the materials, and the work place safety rules for "exposure to these off gasses. If there are not workplace rules for limiting the use of, or exposure to these materials (ventilation? gloves or masks? recommended treatment of first aid required for over exposure?),
that lack would indicate no measurable risk;
Data used for work place limits would probably indicate,
 don't live in the car for more that 8 continuous months with the windows closed.

These also end up on the windows, that's why you're constantly doing interior window cleanings that first few months, then very few after that. Those first few months completely suck though, you have to go over them constantly, otherwise night driving = headlight glare. Would love to see a chemical analysis of different window cleaners for vehicles and which is best and why.

I'd love to see a show on which different chemical [compound]s are being released by different cars. Different brands definitely have different, distinctive smells, especially the various Germans. German car smells tend to persist well into old age, too.
