Kyosho Raider - My introduction to R/C in the late 80's

The Kyosho Raider was my first hobby-grade R/C that I got as a kit from Tower Hobbies back around 1988-89. It was an entry-level kit, and was a great way to start off into this hobby. Back then almost everything was offered as a kit and not RTR, so it really gave you experience building.

The raider is a interesting buggy, technically first mid engine electric one they made i think.
Also the kyosho tracker you got as it shares the gearbox with the ultima you could technically give that a metal drivetrain if you wanted too using the re-released ultima buggy i think.

How wonderful to see this buggy running! In the middle of 2023 it is easy to find parts such as differential, spur gear (and in general all the gears it uses?) Regards

Great stuff. I have started to fix my Raider Pro, it has been 27 years since it was driven, i wonder if you happen to know what if it still is possible to find new driveshafts/dogbones, does one measure at the pins or at the maximum length of the shaft? The pins are at 62mm and the maximum is 68mm.
