God Has Saved the Best for Last | John 2 | Gary Hamrick

The first miracle that Jesus performed during His earthly ministry was the changing of water into wine at the wedding feast in Cana.  No one was healed, no one was raised from the dead, and no one was fed by a few loaves and fish.  This miracle was purely for the enjoyment of the wedding guests.  Like a parent who loves to bless his children, God loves to bless us not based on our performance but based on His goodness.  The wine that Jesus miraculously produced at the end of the wedding banquet was the best wine of the banquet—a reminder to us that God has saved the best for last!

i found Pastor Gary on YouTube a couple of mos. ago, I listen/watch his teachings everyday (2 or 3) of them. I find his teachings easy to understand & very informative. He makes it easy to know what is going on in the stories. I read the Bible once cover to cover and didn't understand what the verses were saying. I feel like God brought me to Pastor G to make it easier for me. I praise God for that. I would love to go and see him in person some time. Leesburg isn't so far from Cincinnati. Thank you, Pastor G, for being there when I wanted to delve into the Bible more deeply. God Bless You.

In my early days of Christianity I became involved with a man who invited me and several other Christians to a bible study in his home. He spoke on Jesus' first miracle of turning the water into wine. However, he said that the water wasn't really water, the wine wasn't really wine, and the event was not an actual wedding. Each thing meant something else. I was astonished at his teaching as he went on to say that much of scripture is symbolic, not literal. I didn't know enough to argue with him, yet I somehow knew he was wrong about everything. Later, in thinking about it, none of the other Christians questioned his teachings, either. As time went by I began to learn more about him, particularly that he was a fan of Edgar Cayce, an occultist. Then other things showed me he was not a Christian at all even though he spoke of Christian matters. That bible study began and ended in one session. Nobody went back.

It's good to hear Gary expounding on bible events.

I have heard the message, that those left over wines were like a dowry from Jesus for the couple to sell after the wedding and, take that money for the couple, because good wine was so expensive at that time, so all those barrels after wedding was a blessing from God for the couple.
