U.S. President Joe Biden said Republican presidential candidate and former president Donald Trump has led an ‘onslaught of lies’ about Hurricane Milton. This came after Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice-President Kamala Harris on Monday called Trump ‘incredibly irresponsible’ for spreading falsehoods about the federal response to Hurricane Helene. As U.S. officials struggle to push back against misinformation about natural disasters hitting the country, at least three congressional Republicans condemned conspiracy theories repeated by fellow members of their party.
