How to Install Duck® Brand Window Kits

Follow these simple steps to install your Duck® Brand Standard Shrink Film window kit.

SUPPLIES
- Hair dryer
- Scissors
- Tape measure

STEPS
1. Clean the window frame to remove excess dust.
2. Apply the double sided tape around the outside edge of the window. Then, remove the tape liner.
3. Next, measure your window. Add an extra 2 inches to your window's dimensions to allow for film shrinking. Cut the film to size.
4. Starting with the top of the window, press the film firmly onto the tape. Follow the same steps for the window sides and window bottom, until all sides of the window are sealed.
5. Then, shrink the film with a hair dryer to remove any wrinkles. Cut off any excess film with scissors.
6. Finally, check to make sure there is tight fit between your window and the shrink film.

Great video, but in both videos I've seen. You don't clearly explain what do to at the bottom. Do I put tape on the windowsill?

I don't understand which dimension you cut for. Are you coming for the Long edge? Because it's all folded and I can't tell how long film is

So the hairdryer is used mainly for cosmetic reasons---i.e. smoothing out wrinkles, rather than actually enhancing the window kit's functional effectiveness?

I want to try this on my bathroom window for the winter. See if it works. I hate taking showers early in the morning or late at night because it gets real cold. My shower stall has a window because there used to be a bathtub. There is no draft, but the window is still cold.
