I'd argue that you really want maximum distance just AFTER the ball rather than at the ball. You want to make sure you're accelerating through the ball. Still, I like this video tip.

it would be great if you could show pro swings that demonstrate the tip you're conveying ... it would motivate us to use that tip even more !
