About Dude Dad:
Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.

In addition to Dude Dad©, I have been in numerous TV shows, commercials, and have regular appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I will also be hosting my own TV show called "Super Dad" on the new Magnolia Network / Discovery+. Heidi and the kids will also be a part of the show. I am originally from the rural community of Howard, South Dakota.

"Go ask your Mom" and "Don't tell your Mother" was about 68% of my Dad's vocabulary until I was about today years old. 🤣🤣🤣 I frickin love my Dad

I have 8 kids- I had my first at 20 and my last at 40- and I have to say parenting has changed UNIVERSES since I started. One thing I know for sure- whatever they’re telling you the “ right” way to parent is now.. it’ll change in a year- so relax and love your child.

I’m a boomer and my dad was great. We did family things together and learned that hard work pays off. Dad was our dad not our best friend.

I love the idea that millennial dad was raised by boomer dad (because that's how it happened)
My dad was 100% boomer dad, sure some stuff wasn't great but he was just trying to improve of his own father's example
My dad said that his biggest regret was not spending more time with us as kids so the fact that millennial dad wouldn't leave his kids alone really hits home

Birds do it, bees do it. I better not catch you doing it.

Both parenting styles have their advantages and drawbacks. Let's learn from the past so we don't repeat its mistakes, but let's not assume we won't make any of our own. No one knows how to parent perfectly. Most of us are just trying our best. Great video.

I was a (widowed)
mom who raised my boys like a boomer dad. Proud to say, and thank the lord above, they turned out great because it really could have gone either way because at the time, it really felt like a poop show.

My advice - teach them boundaries and responsiiblity. My dad tuaght me that sometimes ya just gotta be there with a catchers mitt. You dont always have to be the coach.

I’m definitely a boomer dad; “I don’t care if you don’t like what I fixed, your eating it or you can do without, that’s your only choices” 🤣

I’m very thankful for my “boomer” dad. He’s the best old man and I love him to bits. He’s like the rock of my life, if I’m having a bad day getting a hug from him makes everything better.

“Walk it off! Rub some dirt in it!” My Mom is a boomer and that’s definitely everything she would say to me growing up. And leftovers, the best thing Mom taught me.

“This isn’t a restaurant” is exquisite what my dad told us and now I tell my kids 🤣🙌

BB Dad: “I need to talk to you about the birds and the bees.”
Kid: “Sure dad, what do you want to know?”

I love how Boomer Dad told his kids to play with a box and because of that, Millennial Dad acted like boxes were the best thing ever with his kids. It is fascinating seeing the progression between the generations in this comedy video.

“Pain is weakness leaving the body”… 😂 not said in this video, but that was the mentality of my generation… G-X!!

My dad actually made me walk home about 2 miles _once_ because he told me to stop kicking his seat and I kept doing it. I did what my dad told me the _first_ time from then on. 😂

My boomer dad was the very best at everything but communication. I'm still terrible at communicating problems or confrontations. Other than that, he was everyone's Fav. He would help us hide during hide n seek with all our cousins, took them 3 hours to find me in the top of my parents walk in closet on the top shelf covered in blankets 😂 we finally told them. He taught us common sense, which is rare these days lol we are able to fix things ourselves most of the time. Not afraid to get dirty, it was more fun playing outside than worrying about dirt getting on your clothes or shoes. I had an awesome childhood, I was adopted into a really great family of boomers❤ I raise my children like they raised me, just being easier to talk to and able to sense things rather than pretending everything is perfect all the time. It's good to raise them tough, but you do want them to be open too. My parents were total opposites. Mom was my best friend, dad was my parent. I choose my dad any day but if I need someone to talk to its my mom.

Looove the Boomer dad. He's a realist and teaching the truth. 2nd place is the first to lose, I love it. I can't stand participation Trophies, IMO it telling kids a lie and not preparing the for the real world.
