Backpacking Basics - 5 Days Hiking in Colorado's Gore Range

I have had a lot of people contacting me asking for advice in regards to a backpacking trip. So my last hike I turned the camera on how I handle all the basics from hanging a bear bag, filtering water to easy meals. This is just one representation of how things can be done but we encourage you to go out on your own and find out what works for you. I hope you enjoy it and if you don't need to learn the basics hopefully you will enjoy the lovely scenery of the Gore Range in Colorado.

Thanks for upload. Going on my first ever "solo" backpacking, camping trip in Superior Forest Northern Minnesota next month for 10 days, your tips were super helpful. My wife, son and myself, were lost in this same wilderness for 10 days, 4 years ago, before being rescued....so always needed to go back and conquer it alone.

I remembering about two years ago I watched this video, after my friends brother got back from a trip to Colorado. I just remember wanting to in the mountains so bad. Looking back your video helped motivated me to get a couple trips in to Colorado

This video was actually super helpful because I've never been good at optimizing my bag, and until recently I had never had a job that would allow me the free time in the summer to do a trip like this. I have been slowly easing from hiking mountains on weekend day trips, to going on long adventure type hiking trips!
