I get this question a lot, so hopefully, this video is a useful resource now and going forward.

Almost at 10k! Let's get it, team!

Btw, if my voice sounds weirdly hoarse here, it's because I was feeling a bit run down when I filmed this. Hope that's not too annoying for anyone.

Would be cool if you could put a disclaimer on the Book of Ariely. Since the latest news on him manipulating data for more significant results.

I prefer tiny habits! But I understand why you chose that habit book! It's fun to jump down this rabbit hole and piece all of the information together and each book works together one way or another!

Found you through LinkedIn. I’m intrigued about your comment regarding Kahneman’s Thinking Fast and Slow. Although I agree with you that modern science evolves, hence a good understanding of System 1 and 2 might be the only thing we need to know from the book. Can you expound on this in a future vlog? Would be interesting if you can suggest more books about behavioral science/economics, something more academically inclined to contrast it with this video.

I’ve read most of your recommendations except Good Habits, Bad Habits. Got the ebook version right away, and I like the author’s writing style. It’s accessible without diluting the concepts. The examples (case studies?) are also quite relatable esp. in the 1st chapter. We all know people who make those cringy pronouncements on Facebook 😂

Thanks for sharing. You’ve gained a new subscriber.

Thank you so much, will read these. One that you have to read too is Pre-Suasion by Robert Cialdiny. It describes how you can actually influence people BEFORE you deliver your message/sell something to them. He is also the author of the book called Influence that Pete mentions in this video.

true story: back in 2000 I mentioned Thalers’ papers at an investment committee meeting at the bank I was working for. After a long pause, the CIO said, ” but that would mean our pricing models are not rational”. My boss then said, ” so derivatives and swaps really do not eliminate risk, merely camouflage it”. The Director replied, ” bullshit”. Three years later the bank lost about 2 billion in a week. The CIO meantime had retired to Bermuda.

Thanks so much. Would be really cool if you discussed/uploaded the curriculum of your Master’s course.

Why do you prefer paperback books to hardback? Just curious.
