There are a lot of similarities between the 1920s and 2020s with respect to wealth inequality, rich people close to power, monopolies, etc. One big difference though is that most people didn’t like the rich monopolists that were close to power, they resented them. Today we have a lot of people who admire the wealthy oligarchs, think the oligarchs are wealthy because they are smart, and are “fanboys” of the wealthy. It’s making it more difficult to address the structural problems behind these disparities.
