We have been living here for 21 years, and the price of food (we spend around €120 a week on food now), eating out in restaurant's and property rentals have gone up a lot. Although we still pay peanuts in income tax on our pensions, and our village council tax for 2025 is €176.50 a YEAR. And we get our bin emptied twice a week. Water rate €80 a YEAR, Electricity is quite expensive at around €1500+ year with a pool and using A/C in the summer. Central heating/hot water oil for 4 months of the year is about €800. Fast fibre Internet cost €35 a month. The healthcare is excellent and fast here, I just had a hernia operation and it was all fixed within 2 weeks. The only problem living here now is that it is far too hot between June-September, although I guess nowhere is perfect ! But then anything is better than living in the dystopian UK !

Electric cost when you add all the additional payments, network useage, data management, electric supply, ancillary charges, fuel adjustment, public service obligation, RES fund and VAT comes out at 36.7 cents/kWh, I used 656kWh anbd my total bill was 241.89 euro

Hi Rico, I'm also glad to see more useful content coming again. What I could add is that it is important to put the things into perspective i.e. value for money. And it is disappointingly low. If you take into account poor infrastructure or sometimes lack of it, bad service, horrible bureaucracy, hostile banking, and very poor housing built and furnishing quality, these prices are not worth it. I spend half a year in Cyprus and half a year in another country and there I pay less than half for much higher quality. Will be leaving Cyprus as soon as I can reorganize things.

Awesome content as always! 👏
I have a quick question: what are the average rates for 1-on-1 personal training sessions in cities like Paphos or Limassol? For example, how much could someone expect to pay for a general fitness trainer (Let’s say in an everyday gym) versus a specialized trainer (one with some specializations/niche)? Any insight would be super helpful. Thanks!

I live in Limassol and I think Limassol is the most expensive city in Cyprus and I can confirm that. But if you go out to eat, for example, where the locals eat, it's usually very good and more cheap.

Rico, you are a very nice young man, but you need to appreciate things more. Life has become expensive all over the world. I was in an abusive marriage for more than 20 yrs. Last year, I spent most of the year in a domestic violence shelter in Australia, where I have been living for the past 14 years. I haven't been on holiday for many years and my husband has taken everything from me, including my kids and money. I don't have anybody here and my family live in Cyprus. Everyday, I wish that I was there with them. You have a very luxurious life which you need to thank God for. If you don't like it there, get the heck out! Cyprus is one of the best places in the world, according to statistics. Also, if you dislike it that much, why are you encouraging people to move there???

Thank you Rico for the information. I am a little bit interested on how much food cost in a supermarket. Maybe you can make a video from a supermaket to show us what for example bread, fruit, vegetables, meat and other foods cost in Cyprus.

Thanks for all the insights Rico. Most useful 😊
From all the vids of yours I watched [via recommendation] you seemed to be open to enquiries so I messaged you via your website contact section a few weeks ago when I was in Cyprus on a trip from the UK - asking for some licensed estate agent recommendations - but never heard back from you. Is Insta the only way to connect with you now then? As it seems to be the only contact info in your posts these days, whereas earlier videos of yours had other ways to contact you too.
Cheers

Hi Rico, can you mention a little bit about car insurance and medical insurance prices? I know GESY works well, though most foreigners also have private insurance. Also, I couldn't find any actual rates for car insurances online...
