my first synth v original yay!!!! i wrote this song in like less than 10 days lets goooo
2022 has been a good year for me so far!!! this year is my 5 year producer anniversary so. yeah I'm kinda hyped for september lmao (also I turn 18 this year in august so even more hype!!!!!)
also solaria is now one of my top fav vsynths of all time I highly recommend her!!!

The fact that the last two lines are
"It couldn't be me" followed by "it should've been me" really resonates with me. Even after you "move on" from that kind of obsession, there's a lingering melancholy regret, a wish that you'd been someone else from the beginning, a perverse hypothesis that if you hadn't fallen into obsession, hadn't made mistakes, you could've been "good enough"

This hits a little to close to home. This song is a really good representation of what it's like to be obsessed with somebody. I also like how it doesn't necessarily have to be read as romantic. When I get obsessed to the point of dependency on the person I'm obsessed with it's less uwu going to stalk my boyfriend and more I want to be your best friend and I would do anything to make you happy and the song can be read this way, making it easier for more people with attachment and obsession issues to relate to. 10000/10 song.

this song really hit close to home for me, it reminds me of the struggles i've been facing due to my BPD. wanting to be close to someone, only to drive them away instead. desperately trying to get them back, to the point of damaging your relationship more and more.
there's a couple of lines in this song that *really* make me interpret it as BPD.
"please don't think less of me, i'm but a lonely soul you see", that feeling of being alone? yeah. yeah.
"so now it's your responsibility to make me stay alive" I'd be awfully dependent on my friends, to the point of driving them away
"my polarizing rationality just couldn't pass the test" black and white thinking, another big symptom of BPD

This song makes me feel really good and sad at the same time. I was diagnosed with BPD right before my 18th birthday, and it really explains a lot. For years, my parents thought I was just a bratty spoiled rat. Even now, I watch them idolize and adore my sister (who is younger by 11 months) and I just… feel like it’s so unfair. She has so many talents, and I used to be a “gifted” kid. I’ve tried so hard to earn their love, but my dad still makes fun of me and dumps it all on my shoulders whenever anything happens…
