'Sit Up!': Jacob Rees-Mogg Told Off For Slouching in the Commons During Brexit Debate

The Leader of the House Jacob Rees-Mogg has been told off for slouching in the Commons.

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas said the Conservative politician looked bored as lay spread over three seats.

Other MPs shouted at him to sit up as they debated Brexit.

Is this the level that parliamentary speeches have fallen to. Complaining about the way another member sits on a seat. Not that any member from any party is any better. Brexit is in crisis, give up this pointless petty point scoring and do the job you are paid to do. Boris deserves a lot of criticism for the way he deceptively sold the exit case but at least his attempt to shut down parliament might have enabled something to be salvaged from this disaster instead of this endless nothing. Teresa May could get nothing achieved on the Brexit front and it is starting to look like neither will Boris. God help Britain.

The whole point of the House of Commons is that it’s traditionally been very rough and ready. People have traditionally put their feet up and these silly modern MPs don’t know the traditions of the house.
