I absolutely love how this not only implies the Forest Bandits are remnants of some sort of forgotten nomadic country but also that the Sea Raiders are actually coming from that other remaining half of Sturgia

I think the best thing about this setting that it's neither a historical period or a fantasy world, just a grounded medieval world in a fictional setting. A great alternative in my opinion.

In Warband, Alayen says something along the lines of "Just as the Nords can call their kinfolk from across the sea, so too can us Vaegirs call our kinfolk from across the mountains" since Sturgia's territory is waaay bigger than what we see in Warband, i imagine the Vaegir kingdom we see in Warband isn't the only Vaegir kingdom or Sturgian descendant, maybe the old clans of the Sturgians went back to being a bunch of seperate kingdoms and principalities, we just never see them in Warband.
