The original draft of the film included a lot more scenes of the boneyard creatures while they were still alive. We also would’ve gotten to see them killing and eating each other as well. Paris and Johns would’ve been around until the third act, underground, and this would’ve explained the planet’s climate and temperature changes. It also would’ve explained the way the star-system works and the life-cycle of all the creatures that dwell in the entire underground ecosystem. The original version of the script was also titled, Nightfall, and the female outlaw Tara Krieg is of an interstellar tribe of barbarians. They eventually changed Tara to Riddick, and we were introduced to the Furyan race in The Chronicles of Riddick.
