Is no one gonna talk about that song choice?! It’s as if Succession didn’t have one of the best theme songs…

I always love the writing awards most because they represent the most important part of filmmaking
Without a script, there is no episode and/or show

Succession is doing what The Sopranos did: frequently winning for writing

First time a Drama has won Best Writing 3 seasons in a row since Mad Men and The Sopranos.

And that’s about how good Succession is.

Successions writing is top notch. He will probably win again the emmys for this last season as well

I really thought Succession would win more awards.

Chill. BCS will win next time. All the bells say was probably the greatest writing achivement in all of succession episodes. To compete it with plan and execution is banal.

Anybody who’s actually seen succession would know no other series stands a chance in any category especially the writing and acting

Ok... I like Succession and that episode was amazing, but for it to win over "Plan and Execution" which was possibly BCS best episode... Come on now. BCS easily should have won this one.

1. I think there are very few great script writers at this point, and even good ones are pretty hard to come by. In my mind nowadays great shows start with great scripts. Aaron Sorkin remains one of the recent greats in my mind. And it is weird that these guys probably get paid only a fraction of the actors, because for every great role I can probably think of at least 5-10 actors that probably also would've done an equally great acting job IF the role was written as good as it is. My point: great writers are scarcer than great actors at this point, market forces of scarcity dictate they should get paid better.
2. Rather than someone winning this award for an episode, I'd rather see someone (likely head writer) win it for an entire season. These series usually have a story arc that requires great build-up and writing across a season so I'm not sure what awarding it for 1 episode exactly says. But maybe that's what the best series award is for...

Succession is a really good show I'll admit, but c'mon bro. How did Plan and Execution not win. Like I only want BCS to win so Peter Gould and Vince AND the actors who were part of it to get the recognition they deserve.
