Out of all incredible winners coming out of this year's Emmy, Sanada's win is easily one of my top 5 favourites. Congratulations to him 👏

Congratulations on your award. As a Japanese person, I'm proud to see a work like this win an award. It was a wonderful period drama even for a Japanese person to watch.
Sitting next to Takehiro Hira, who played Ishido, was his mother, Yoshiko Sakuma, a great actress who represents Japan and has left her mark in Japanese film history. She was beautiful when she was young. She often starred in major period dramas.She is one of the great actresses whose name remains in the history of Japanese cinema. Hira's father is also a great actor whose name remains in the history of Japanese cinema and theater. She must be very happy that her son won an award for a film he starred in.

Since the Emmy Awards aired last month, I've watched this announcement many times on different sites, and am always uplifted by Hiro-san's reaction and outstanding speech acceptance. As many people have commented, recognition for his memorable and outstanding work has been long overdue. Shogun finally brought this amazing, multi-talented actor front and center to the world, and it showed in his performance and also showcased his background influence as a producer. He never fails to thank everyone involved, and is so humble that he was named in the presence of his fellow nominees. Love him and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his stellar career!!!
