HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M A PERFECTIONIST?

Most perfectionists don’t even realise they are one! And I’m a perfect example of that - I didn’t realise I was a perfectionist until I was in my mid-twenties…

The biggest myth about perfectionism is that perfectionists are always neat and organised. But that’s totally untrue! Perfectionists aren’t perfect people, they’re people who feel ashamed they’re not perfect.

Perfectionists procrastinate, people please, overthink and abandon their goals due to their all-or-nothing mindset. Perfectionists are smart, ambitious and have lots of potential but get in their own way because they’re scared of how they’ll feel if they don’t live up to their insanely high standards. Perfectionists also LOVE procrasti-learning (and procrasti-cleaning) so they can feel productive without having to feel vulnerable!

But here’s the best news… If you can relate to this, you’re not alone! Just because you’re a perfectionist doesn’t mean you can’t reach your full potential. It just means you need to learn how to get out of your own way and into a growth mindset - and I can teach you how!

Hey…, So happy I’ve found your video. I’m embarking on a health journey to heal my binge eating and I’ve found your tips very helpful. I realized that my joy of reading self help books makes it difficult to focus on one area of my life. I am always already on the next book because I want to read so many and I want to change so many things at the same time. But one thing I realized that often when you focus on changing only one thing it has a domino effect. If you start working out it most likely will have an effect on your eating, your energy level, your sleep and you probably will spend less time watching tv. It might even change your posture, heal your back pain and change your mood. I try to remember that next time I want to switch. For the next 90 days I only want to focus on healing my relationship with food.
Thank you for this great video and I am happy to hear you are a fellow fan of Brooke Castillo. ;) She’s amazing!

Specificity is so key you're so right! Thank you for that reminder. I get bogged down all the time with trying to work on too many things at once. I've found it super helpful to turn off all unnecessary screens so I can focus on one thing. Thanks for this!

So glad I landed here! Exactly where I’m at right now. There’s so much to improve and so many videos, podcasts, articles, books, apps, workbooks, journals. I’m scared to just start with ONE Trait and ONE teacher. But like you said the way you approach one thing is the way you will approach all of them? So I’m willing to take your advice, however much I feel drawn in every direction. Better than spinning in circles! Thanks again, look forward to doing your workbook!

Sam, you nailed it!! There is so much info available today. Which is great but also a bit overwhelming. It's great that you prescribe people to spend 50% of the time executing. In the beginning, I definitely had the motivation to consume a lot and not know where to begin. I am definitely going check out your podcast and recommendations. Keet it up! BTW I am not a woman lol

Self-development has always interested me, thank You for the video !And I would like to say that self-development always begins with something insignificant and small. It is a long process of learning and accepting oneself, spiritual growth, and long-term self-improvement and working with oneself. Great video, personal development is a massive and complex subject, but if we can adopt a simple approach, and do as you said at the start, pick a specific area of your life to work on, things in my opinion can only get better.
