Saudi Arabia is a closed and conservative country ruled by Sharia law. In recent years, the country's government has loosened stringent laws and allowed women to drive cars, attend football matches, and children learn music. At the same time, witchcraft and Harry Potter are still banned in the Kingdom. In this episode, you will find out why in this country they can be executed or put in prison for many years. And how do the residents of Saudi Arabia relate to such rules. What is prohibited for women in Saudi Arabia and how they reacted to being allowed to work.

I never heard any Saudi complain about the lack of alcohol or the closure of shops during prayer times. Most people view it as a chance to go and pray and shop keeper take that chance to relax and take a break.

No one gets locked up inside the shop 😀 they asked everyone to leave before shutting down for prayers

This may seem a bit strange but I actually like that they have separate places for men and women, like I really wish that we had more women-only places in my county since I often feel very uncomfortable around men. It could help women feel safer while taking public transportation and such, especially at night.

You can still have fun without Alcohol and night Clubs. That is the problem in Western countries they think "Fun" is getting wasted

Well said at 5:25. He said, ” We don't feel sad and we are good with it”. As long as we're satisfied with our religion and the rules of our country, we don't want anyone to put his nose in our business. We're doing great and happy. People from all over the world must understand that it okay to be different than others. We don't want to have night clubs we don't want to have alcohol. We are super good with shut down the Malls and the other places during the prayer times. Guys you're welcome from all over the world in Saudi Arabia. We get mad when people talking about our business. However, If you get there you are going to see very nice hospitality, friendly people, amazing places, delicious food, and historic places. It is going to be such an amazing experience, I promise.

You do not need to get wasted and sleep around to have fun. There are countless more fun activities you can do to have fun. As a matter of fat, the entertainment ministry exists in Saudi for this purpose.

Some information are outdated. For example closing shops during prayer is no longer enforced. Shops are open during prayer time. Today I was shopping with my mother during Maghrib prayer time and nothing was closed. Also no one will lock you in the shop during prayer hehe. The only time shops are closed is during Jumaa Prayer in Friday (between 12PM to 1PM).

Also women can go out freely at anytime alone since forever its not something new! I remember when I was a child my grandmother used to walk alone to shop or buy food or even visit friends and neighbors.

I love the fact that the taxi driver said he must pray first. Beautiful gesture

such a different and great perspective on saudi arabia! thank you. i confess that sometimes is hard to not get biased when only bad things are shown in the media. when you asked that guy about the nightclubs and alcohol, i felt such good vibes from him, he seems to be a very humble person.

No nightclubs, no alcohol, no music..l i love it. Simple life, crime rates close to nothing compared yo the rest of the world. And a woman would be safer on a saudi street at midnight than in broad daylight in new york. I don’t care about all those restrictions. If it lets you live peacefully, I wouldn’t mind being allowed out after eight!

i'm gonna tell you, that "relaxed" wasn't always about alcohol.

My friend lived in Saudi Arabia for years and she said that it's a myth that women can't leave the house without their husband or a male relative. She said that because women couldn't drive, they naturally would have to go out with a male because he'd have to drive her, but if say a woman wanted to walk to the market or to visit a friend, she could walk alone. As for covering their faces it may seem like a big deal until you consider that the whole world needs to cover our faces and it's really not that big a deal. You can still enjoy life with only your eyes visible; well, that's how it's been for the women there.

I just find it weird how the western world expects the rest of the world to be like them and do not accept anything different. entertainment does not necessarily mean alcohol and clubs.

As a Saudi girl, I love my country very much and am proud of it. Like the proud Saudis, it is not necessary for us to become like other countries. Our country is beautiful with our culture, customs and lifestyle that distinguishes us.😄🇸🇦

Im not Saudi but i love this place life is amazing here.
Its peaceful and beautiful i live in najran, and its rained a lot here.
There's lots of trees.
Women don't have to wear this theres plenty of Filipinos and Egyptians and others here who don't wear this cloth.
There's music and harry potter is definitely not banned.
Most of this is simply false and over exaggerating it is wrong.
Prayers only bring people together.
They're sweet disciplined and educated.
Most women here are studying and now doing jobs.
This is crazy to watch I've been living here most of my life more than 12 years.
They're relaxed and happy they have parties and drink tea and sweets.
