No trade deal with the usa government is better than a bad trade deal for China. Remember the Plaza accord + semiconductor deal which Japan mistakenly signed with the usa government, where Japan gave in to virtually all usa government demands, which then caused Japan to go into recession for about 30 years, and Japan became no longer a threat to the usa government today, with Japan's finance and semiconductor industry all destroyed by the usa government . Never never ever trust the usa government, which will never never ever keep its words in any agreement

may be Singpore needs to diversify, but America needs to bring down cHINA massive advantage over the Americian Economy. Now if Singpore imported 90% and exported 40% to Japan dont say you will leave it as such, your Government will certainly take measures to rebalance trade, as America is doing.
