How to Open a Wine Bottle with an Ah-So Wine Opener | Cork Puller Video Demonstration

Watch winemakers demonstrate how to use an ah-so wine opener for older vintages. This two prong wine opener is the preferred way to open a bottle of wine once it's more than 10 years old.

The ah-so has been my primary way of opening wine for almost 40 years, and I never knew it’s name! Keeping the cork intact to preserve the bottle for the next day has allowed me to enjoy more bottles from my beloved Finger Lakes!

Jesus! I've been using this thing for decades and never knew that it was called an Ah-So.
Beware, it does take some practice and strength to shimmy it into the neck of the bottle without pushing the cork into the bottle. Thanks for the video

I didn't have a corkscrew on hand, but I had an ah-so, and didn't want to accidentally shove the cork into the bottle. Your video was a great help, as the uncorking process went off without a hitch. Thanks!

As someone who has worked in the industry since the 80's...and recently owning a wine bar. Opening bottles of wine with an Ah-so has been my least favorite way of opening bottles of wine. Using a single-handle "double-hinged" lever style is best. Then there would be a number of others...finally the Ah-so if there's nothing else. But that said, it's a really well made video.

And with really old and expensive bottles, to not mess with the cork at all, a 'Port tong' is often used.
