Call it power creep, which is probably accurate, but these 2-mana commanders have taken off in the format for a reason. Not having to spend that much to replay maybe your most important creature has become a must.

I remember a time when 1 and 2 mana creatures didn't regularly come with everything you could ever want and did your taxes to boot.

I have a light paws deck and whenever I pull it out I'm the primary target from the beginning. Even then I'm never last place. You just get so much value for how cheap your cards are to cast.

I just want to shine some light on my boi Skullbriar. Super old 2 mana golgari commander. In fact it was one of the first cards to name the command zone in it's text. He's a pretty straight-forward aggro Voltron commander, but I love bringing my boi out on turn 2 and start hitting people because it has haste.

Bro light paws is such a good commander and if you don't want a mono white then you can put her in your aura deck that has white and be powerful.

I’ve been running an Alyi, Eternal Pilgrim deck for a while and it’s an absolute blast having a 2 drop commander. I also love Grist the Hunger Tide even though she’s technically 3 CMC I can typically get her out turn two with my ramp package

2 cmc commanders have been my favorite for the longest time. The two-drop slot in your curve is always filled

My go to boy for mono blue is Fblthb. And the new white drone commander tempts me to finally build mono white poison.

I’ve been trying Killian, Ink Duelist and it’s been pretty nice

My Lightpaws deck got banned in my playgroup, because if you can’t answer it properly it simply dominates the board. Cards like flickering ward, benelovent blessing and comanders plate make it almost un-killable, and even when it dies, it comes back out swinging with a retether or replenish with a giant load of auras attached to it -one of them usually all that glitters or ethereal armor. I also wanna mention that umbra mystic is a highly underplayed card! Noone wants to play against the Voltron-fox, since its game over after just 21 dmg!

Another cool 2 mana commanders are Katilda, Dawnhart Prime for human tribal deck and Sygg, river cutthroat. I have both of them and they are my favorites.

Trelessara is a fantastic life matters commander. You drop that out and get a few "wtf" looks and by turn 10, you have over 100 life and have answers to nigh everything because you've been scrying so much that your hand is filled with things you need to maintain your boardstate

I think 3-cost and 4-cost commanders are great too since 2-cost ramp is easily accessible to all colours, but anything more is too expensive. If they kill it thrice you'll rarely cast it again.
