The rough on that course is the greens where I golf

That lie was about 10% "rougher" than the fairways where I play. Where I play, if the ball is in the rough, it often can't even be found unless/until you are right over top of it. I learned a long time ago to not even bother trying to hit a fairway wood out of those places and that helped but it still caps the distance I can hit it. I don't like it but it does force me to work hard to stay in the fairway!

At my club that's not rough. That's fairway that hasn't been cut yet today.
Makes me thing of the old Crocodile Dundee line: "That's not a noif! THIS is a noif!!" (I know, I'm dating myself with that.)
And by the way, he and I had a different definition of "back in the stance."

Hey Michel get that ball in real rough. I can see most of the ball and the sole of your fancy shoes. I know you are a very straight driver, unlike us so you probably are not familiar with real rough.
