Golden rule for resistors. The end that the current flows into is always the positive side of the component. If you don't know which way the current is flowing then just pick one and mark all your components relative to that. You'll always get the same answer.

It does not matter as long as you are consistent at each node. I always put the node I am working at first, i.e. @ VB use eqns VB-VA and VB-VC. You can do it the other way around but you must do the same both times

@syedhaniraza You arbitrarily choose the polarities (I have another video on passive sign convention). But once you assign the polarities the current direction must start from + (tail) to - (arrow). If you assign the current direction first, then the tail is positive and the arrow is the negative polarity. Hope this helps. Pleas let me know if you have further questions in this area. Thanks for the video, i got a question which is in 7:41, V2 polarity shouldn't be + on the right handside and - in the left handside, because throughout the video it has been consistent except this one

How do you know where the positive and negative signs go? Some notes have one + and one -, some have two positives, and some have two negatives. Doesn't make sense.

that was an awesome video though i though 4:57 - 6:54 was not really muhc useful as it was just pretty much the same thiing as the first bit 0-4:56.. sortof a waste of time and .. the vid couldve done with either bits edited out..
