Orcas attack a yacht in the Strait of Gibraltar

A pod of orcas have sank a British yachtsman’s boat in the Strait of Gibraltar.

Robert Powell and two passengers of the Bonhomie William had to be rescued by Spanish coastguards when orcas buffeted the vessel at night.

The whales disabled the vessel’s steering and the boat started taking on water.

“Sadly these (orcas) were not playing. It was a well-orchestrated and organised attack to sink my boat,” Mr Powell, a London-based managing director, said in a social media post.

“We were all rescued and are safe now.”

It’s the Orcas habitat right…they’re after tuna that goes to the Mediterranean due to overfishing numbers are decreasing and instead they find boats…everybody has a status that status for some “means” having everything including a “boat”…

Yachts need to carry a means of defence against this sort of attack. The orcas are clever - if they start getting pushback they will stop … much like most things in life.

It hasn’t been widely reported, but the Orcas also left a note behind. It read: “Dear humans, We are tired of your $hit. Free Shamu!”

Yachts need to start carrying sonar if they sail in the Med. That should deter the orca pod that keeps doing this.

Rubbish rudders on modern boats instead of keel rudders. They fail in storms as well

Whales are intelligent and probably see that man / boats are overfishing their habitat and the whales, as a result are starving.
