Alison OWNS this song. No one can remotely approach what she's done to it. Her rendition is a vocal and emotional powerhouse!

Alison is to this song what Loren Allred is to Never Enough, Keala Settle is to This Is Me, and Sierra Boggess is to Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. Others can try, but no one sings this song with the emotion and power of Alison. Absolutely amazing.

Not only is she a better singer than anyone else who sings this, she really focuses on the storytelling elements more than anybody else. The bitterness and resentment in her voice is palpable, and is absolutely needed. It adds the extra spice the song needs. Because of her version, which I recently heard, I finally watched the movie that inspired the musical (expecting the song, lol, as I thought the movie was based on the musical and not the other way around) and it hits even harder than when I first heard her sing it, and the first time she brought me to tears.
