As a Note 4 owner for almost 3 years, I just can't imagine owning another phone that doesn't have the productivity of the s pen brings to the table.

Based on your review, I would say the Note 8, but experience says otherwise. I am a former Samsung fanboy who switched when Samsung went the way of Apple by removing the memory card slot, and ability to swap batteries. Yes, they brought back the micro SD slot, and Pixel just followed apple in removing the headphone jack. I don't care, I use Bluetooth. I'm getting off topic. Stock Android runs smoother, and having the latest features like picture in picture a year in advance is a huge bonus. With unlimited uploading of pictures and video, I haven't exhausted the 32 gb my original Pixel came with. You failed to mention that a Pixel works on any network CDMA or GSM, and that Google's Project Fi offers superior coverage, because it uses multiple companies towers. What about the Google Lens feature that allows identification of products and places just by aiming the camera? Front facing speakers. Google is offering partial refund for trade in of old phones as well as zero percent financing for 2 years. I got $400.00 for trading in my first gen Pixel bring the price down to $569 for the 2 XL. Samsung is far from a bad choice, and likely has a better battery life, and superior screen, but why do I need retinal scanner when the finger print scanner on the XL works quickly and efficiently? Everyone values different features above others in a phone, but for my money, it's the Pixel XL 2.

Thanks for the video, I'm stuck between these two phones right now. Both have amazing features, but the headphone jack and s-pen are putting the Note in the lead. Definitely gonna use Nova Launcher though...

Great comparison video Daniel as usual! I agree the Note 8 is the complete package. Let's not forget the Gear VR for the Note 8, which is way ahead of Google Daydream. So, apart from better software updates and dual speakers, the Note 8 wins by a clear mile.

The most ideal phone has: 1) Note 8's design, 2) Pixel 2 XL's Google AI smarts, 3) Android OS customizability, 4) iPhone optimization, 5) integrates into an ecosystem as fluidly as Apple's.

Pixel 2 XL underrated. Can't wait till i get mine. Great design, I love the back it's different. Portrait mode on the front camera, front facing speakers and AR Core. Not to mention 15mins of charge gets you 7 hours of battery. I can live without the headphone jack.

The Pixel 2 XL has larger bezels at the top and bottom because of the front facing speakers. Me personally I would much rather have that than narrower bezels.

Finally a reviewer mentions that to make up for the bloatware it can be removed/disabled or just install another ROM. You have my thumb up for that. I would also go with the Note 8.

Personally I like how the google pixel xl 2 has side bezels. The Samsungs curved edge is too uncomfortable to hold in my opinion.
