Fishing in DECEMBER - Winter Bank Fishing in Cold Weather

Fishing in December can be tricky, but winter bank fishing in cold weather can still be productive. Today I start out fishing the cold water with a jerkbait. I don't manage to catch any bass, and instead I lose my lure to a snag! Bummer! After getting over the loss of a lure I switch to a smaller float fishing rig and target panfish instead. I start catching fish near the boat ramp. I actually catch close to a dozen fish in about 30 minutes! None of them are gigantic, but if I were starving I would have enough to eat. Try bank fishing in December if you are up for a challenge! #realistic #fishing

The moment you stepped in that log I was like, OK, here we go, risking a fall for a lure, another realistic fact and occurrence in fishing, glad nothing happened and that you caught so many bluegill, that gulp minnow on a BG-1 is a sure thing.

Had a similar day today. Went back to one of my favorite spots i had observed fish activity in earlier this week on the way home from work and was glad to finally have an opportunity to go. The fish werent huge, but they were indeed biting. Caught 6 bluegill, 5 shellcracker, and 1 eight or nine inch bass on my new ultralight combo. Was quite pleased with the results. The bluegill had some nice pink tint to them.
