This isn't a review, it's a commercial for the Nintendo switch. The battery life between the Nintendo switch and the 3DS is not even a contest.

1.3ds games are 30 dollars cheaper
2.you'll wont have to pay to play online.
3. the switch is going to have a lot of 3rd party games, meaning that you can get them on pc and most likely cheaper.
it honestly depends on how much you're willing to spend. Home consoles get expensive as hell.

my grandpa is pretty tech-aware for an old man, and when i had first brought my 3ds xl out in front of him, his eyes went round in awe. he couldn't keep his eyes off of the little flashy device and his eyes followed it whenever i moved around the room lols. he probably thought it was a mini laptop xD

only thing i like more about the switch is the games, news section and it’s exclusive features. But I prefer the 3DS’ home menu, music, eshop, has a mic and camera, music player, fun little free apps like badge arcade and swapdoodle, internet connection, themes etc

In relation to the 3Ds, I use the 3D all the time and the added depth gives birth to some very interesting creative game play elements so I don't consider it a gimmick at all..

I have a switch. Playing the hell out of zelda when I get a chance i clocked in 75 hours already. I will still play my new 3ds XL when games come out. Fire Emblem Echoes is 2 months away!

"No one really uses the 3d on it" Whatever...The 3d isn't a gimmick, it makes the game bigger, and the graphics look better. Most people who have the 3ds, do in fact use the feature. Have you ever even played a 3ds before?

I always use the 3d i feel games lose detail and look slightly blurry without it

I got my 3DS last year, and I love it. I never used to be hugely into video games because there's such a narrow selection of the kinds of games I like, but I found a ton of great ones for the 3DS and can play it for hours. I've been playing Monster Hunter Stories for days now, and I love it. By the time the Switch comes out with a wide enough variety of games for it to be likely that there will be some I enjoy, I expect the newest generation of handheld gaming after the Switch will have been created, so I'm not sure I see much point in getting one at the moment.

AND BECAUSE THE EYE TRACKING ON THE NEW MODELS EXISTS, ALMOST EVERYONE USES THE 3D

The 3DS CAN be used in another fashion if you have super smash bros for the 3DS and Wii U since of the feature where you can play on the big screen with your 3DS.
